Environmental Conservation
A sustainable production process for high quality coffee starts with environmentally conscious farm management. We are supporting producers through partnerships with an NGO, an importer and a roaster with training and equipment such as bio gas digesters, rain water catchment tanks, production organic fertilizers etc. Bio gas digesters provide easy cooking fuel, the waste product provides organic fertilizer and the use of gas replaces firewood or charcoal and thus contributes to preserving the natural forest cover of the mountain range. Moreover, it saves time and physical effort for women who traditionally are responsible for collecting the firewood often at far distances from their homes.
