Inspection and Export

The final stage of quality control is the inspection by the Department of Coffee Development in the Ministry of Agriculture, overseeing the export process and ensuring that official standards set for export quality are respected. Samples are taken to the government laboratory and subjected to green and cup testing. If approved the “Quality Certificate” will be issued and clearance for export is given. Beans are now ready for packing into “Grain Pro” bags made from a special polythene material that protects their aroma and keeps them fresh. Then they are covered by jute bags and stitched for loading and transport.
